I have two rigs: one extremely complex, the other extremely simple.

Magazine July 1997 Feature.My current simple but potent rig that I use both in Niacin and the John Novello Project is a custom cutdown Bill Beer Keyboard Products B3 with two leslies, one a biamped high powered 122, the other a stock tube 122. I mic the tube leslie for tone and mix with the high powered one and then mix that signal with the direct preamp out from the organ. The rest is top secret and I'd have to kill you if I told you! On top of the primordial beast is a custom programmed Kurzweil 2600. I run all of this through Carver Pro Amps and Bagend Loud Speakers, add a touch of what I hear in my head and there you have it. |
